“Calendulas” with Cliff Swain-Salomon
Caléndulas was inspired by the art of Mexico with a modern twist. Growing up in Southern California, we would visit Olvera Street (the birth place of Los Angeles) during Dia de los Muertos where the streets were lined with marigolds in honor of the holiday. Many of the shops had beadwork with beautiful, bright colors. I made this bracelet in honor of those memories and to honor my family’s Spanish heritage.
